Late night miracle

Blog #5

Bradley had been trapped in his sinister mind. Ever since that encounter by River Rd, all things had been altered. The night he was given the unsolicited knife, he took it home and placed it by his bedside table. He didn’t feel the need to let anyone know. He didn’t want the cops to use it as evidence. He wanted to uncover this mystery for himself. He was petrified, but so investigative all at once. Not one interaction was made by him for days within the town, not even with Victor. He needed time to clear his mind from all this chaos. At work he was mopier than ever before, he had even stayed overtime just so he would not have to go face the imprisonment with that knife. He feared the emptiness would flood him and the dark thoughts that the knife had caused would take over his body.
Today, there was fairly nice weather, clear skies which meant a clear night- good for stargazing. It had not been this way for a while. So the people around the Maitland planned to watch as the night unveiled. Bradley liked this idea of coming together especially in such a grueling time.
This night was starrier than the rest. There was something distinctly special about it, so he decided to watch from the hallway window - still avoiding all interactions -  as the town was above him.
He watched the sky as if it were the most fascinating thing in the world. His mind wasn’t roaming, for once. It was just himself. While he was soaking it all in, his concentration was refocused towards a flashing light. This was the light he had been waiting for. Truly a miracle. He watched as the star’s colors faded into the night and made a wish before it was too late. He wished for the conspicuous that his Leukemia would vanish and all health was restored and he wished to see his father again, but those were the far-reaching desires, he knew that too. So quickly he decided his one wish would be to uncover this mystery of Mr. Evans.

A dream

Blog #8 Because the weather was so undesirable, he could not leave his small apartment for the day. He felt the whole town sleeping. Therefore, he lied on his bed listening to the faint buzzing sound of the heater slowly dozing off into his world. He could see himself from the ceilings perspective, only he was awake. The dream started pretty ordinary; just him taking on the his typical daily routines. It was yesterday. He woke up, got dressed, made some coffee, and brushed his teeth before leaving to go work then to see Victor. His dream did not follow him though. He watched his untouched room for what felt like days, but were probably minutes waiting for himself to arrive. The day felt average for Bradley, even boring. Once he had arrived home, in the dream, the sun had already set. He was exhausted so put his leftovers in the fridge from his night out and brushed his teeth. As he was going beginning to change the dream refocused on a tall and slim man that was directly behind hi...

Silent City

Blog #2 It was midway through yet another rainy day. Bradley dragged his exhausted body across his mattress to check the time. He wasn’t at all surprised that he had overslept, the silence of the city had him captivated. Last night was a blur at the Platinum Bar just down the road. He was one of the few who decided to set free from his one bed apartment, most people around him mourned over the death of Mr. Evans. But, Bradley felt unfazed, there was no relationship among the him and Mr. Evans. The loose murder gave him a few chills, but no feeling he couldn’t rid of. Bradley is formidable, not many scenarios disconcert him. Once he finally acquired the strength to pull himself together and collect his fresh new button up and black slacks, he stumbled over to his shower. Setting his pristine clothes on the small, red mat that lied next to the tub. He slowly turned the knob waiting for the cold water to come bursting out, but nothing. He faced the faucet, while thinking to himself,...

#9 The end

The day started with dark skies covering the Maitland. Bradley was slow to get up, per usual. He rolled over in his bed checking the time. Once he could collect himself enough he got up and dressed himself then headed down the hall to the stairs. Once he was outside, immediately he noticed the big commotion and was drawn to it. It was Edgar’s body. His stomach stirred, not because of the body itself, rather the photo lying next to it. He began having flashbacks of the night he was lying under the stars and his dream. He could not keep his eyes off of it, how did he not know? Ether. Ether was the familiar man who he had seen during his peace. He must be the killer too, he thought to himself. His connections were disturbed with Victor’s hand touching his shoulder. Victor saw that something was unsettling him even more than Edgar could. He asked Bradley if he wanted to go out and eat to take his mind off a few things. “I just can’t believe it.” “What can’t you believe?” Victor replied ...
