#9 The end

The day started with dark skies covering the Maitland. Bradley was slow to get up, per usual. He rolled over in his bed checking the time. Once he could collect himself enough he got up and dressed himself then headed down the hall to the stairs. Once he was outside, immediately he noticed the big commotion and was drawn to it. It was Edgar’s body. His stomach stirred, not because of the body itself, rather the photo lying next to it. He began having flashbacks of the night he was lying under the stars and his dream. He could not keep his eyes off of it, how did he not know? Ether. Ether was the familiar man who he had seen during his peace. He must be the killer too, he thought to himself. His connections were disturbed with Victor’s hand touching his shoulder. Victor saw that something was unsettling him even more than Edgar could. He asked Bradley if he wanted to go out and eat to take his mind off a few things. “I just can’t believe it.” “What can’t you believe?” Victor replied ...

A dream

Blog #8 Because the weather was so undesirable, he could not leave his small apartment for the day. He felt the whole town sleeping. Therefore, he lied on his bed listening to the faint buzzing sound of the heater slowly dozing off into his world. He could see himself from the ceilings perspective, only he was awake. The dream started pretty ordinary; just him taking on the his typical daily routines. It was yesterday. He woke up, got dressed, made some coffee, and brushed his teeth before leaving to go work then to see Victor. His dream did not follow him though. He watched his untouched room for what felt like days, but were probably minutes waiting for himself to arrive. The day felt average for Bradley, even boring. Once he had arrived home, in the dream, the sun had already set. He was exhausted so put his leftovers in the fridge from his night out and brushed his teeth. As he was going beginning to change the dream refocused on a tall and slim man that was directly behind hi...

Spring time

Blog #7 While it had been a relieving couple of days, with the knife no longer in his possession, Bradley now felt as if he had been released from the pressures of resolving this mystery. He was free he imagined, the artifact was no longer his responsibility. He could now leave the house more it seemed. When he looked out the window, he watched as the small shadows that the clouds formed rolled across the sky. Overall, the sky was much more clear than any other day thus far in the year. Although, there was not much vegetation that was visible from his room, he could see a few trees blossoming in the distance. The spring time always resurfaced warm memories. He thought that the weather was the world working in his favor as a part of his wish on that shooting star. The weather suddenly lost its rain when he did. Later that day he needed to get out of the house, so he grabbed a blanket and rode his bike along River Rd. Easily distracted by the admirable blooming bushes, it took ...

Blog #6 To New Beginnings

Blog #6 Surprisingly awakened by the fog in the air, Bradley rubbed his eyes thinking it was entirely his vision or another symptom. Rolling out of bed, only to discover that the deep crack in the wall along his bedside table, had fog rapidly seeping in. He gazed outside his window hoping to discover different a clear day , but his vision did not go further than the sidewalk below him. Today, he and all the rest of his neighbors will be imprisoned in their homes he imagined. He thought about the irony of his wish the other night, that he get a vivid understanding of the murderer, but today, it seemed as if the world was working against him, by blinding him from the truths that he is yet to unravel. Maybe this was not his fate, maybe the world did not want him to be the hero. Afterall he has had this old rusty knife sitting around his house making him paranoid out of his mind for weeks now. He went outside his room to collect his newspaper, only to realize the deliverer gave ...

Late night miracle

Blog #5 Bradley had been trapped in his sinister mind. Ever since that encounter by River Rd, all things had been altered. The night he was given the unsolicited knife, he took it home and placed it by his bedside table. He didn’t feel the need to let anyone know. He didn’t want the cops to use it as evidence. He wanted to uncover this mystery for himself. He was petrified, but so investigative all at once. Not one interaction was made by him for days within the town, not even with Victor. He needed time to clear his mind from all this chaos. At work he was mopier than ever before, he had even stayed overtime just so he would not have to go face the imprisonment with that knife. He feared the emptiness would flood him and the dark thoughts that the knife had caused would take over his body. Today, there was fairly nice weather, clear skies which meant a clear night- good for stargazing. It had not been this way for a while. So the people around the Maitland planned to watch as th...
