Not Just Another Day

The days seemed to be getting longer. Bradley was instructed by his doctor to take a couple weeks off of work because the radiation was too intimidating for his conditions. So with a little freetime on his hands, he was able to make an appearance to pay his respect at Mr. Evans funeral two days ago. He immediately regretted it when he walked inside the venue. The bare look on his neighbors faces seemed all too familiar. He’s seen that face before. It’s the one you get from your doctor when you’re told you have Leukemia or the one you make when you find out that your only family is really gone. He felt out of place and uncomfortable, like he didn’t belong in there. He wasn’t able to mourn with the rest of them. Once the service was almost over he slipped out the back and hurried home before people saw him.
